The Collaborative Travels to Washington, D.C. to Advocate for Mississippi Hospitals and Patients

The Mississippi Healthcare Collaborative, alongside Mississippi Medicaid Director Cindy Bradshaw, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the state’s federal delegation. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the Big Beautiful Bill—a pivotal piece of legislation with the potential to significantly impact healthcare across Mississippi.

During these vital conversations, MHC members emphasized how key provisions in the bill could influence access to care, financial sustainability for hospitals, and the broader mission to improve health outcomes throughout the state.

“Our visit was about making sure the voices of Mississippi patients and providers are heard,” said Kent Nicaud, Chairman of the Board of the Collaborative. “The Big Beautiful Bill has the potential to transform healthcare delivery in our state, and it was vital for us to ensure lawmakers understood that impact.”

MHC remains committed to advancing policies that support Mississippi’s healthcare infrastructure and ensure every resident has access to high-quality, reliable care.
